Residential weekend

In July 2010 YogaLiving is offering a rare opportunity to access excellent and authentic teaching focussing on the practice of Atma Vichara at a weekend summer retreat in Somerset.
YogaLiving has conducted residential retreats for the past 12 years and has an established skill in delivering quality experiences for participants.

The venue

Abbey House is a spacious and comfortable 18th century retreat house in the centre of Glastonbury and set alongside Glastonbury Abbey. The location and the surrounding area has drawn spiritual seekers for centuries.  There is open access to the ancient Abbey grounds, to Glastonbury Tor, the surrounding countryside and the historic town.

Experiences from the 2009 retreat:

” Beautiful – so clear and so lovingly delivered “

” So simple and yet so profound – Thank you “

” Your teaching is lyrical, pertinent to me and unfaltering – thankyou “

” After hearing you on several occasions something really clicked for me this time – a beautiful experience “

The teacher

The weekend will be taught and led by Derek Thorne; highly experienced, and insightful he leads the YogaLiving Community supporting individuals to live the teachings of Atma Vichara in everyday life.

The programme

Satsang is the method of instruction and will be the basis of the programme each day. Satsang means wise company and spiritual connection. Direction is given through instruction, silence, chanting and meditation. Participants can either sit in chairs or on the floor. The nature is beautiful and there is opportunity for walking through the lanes and hills. Free time is available to roam the garden or just to rest. Outside of the sessions silence is maintained throughout the weekend enabling quietness in the house for sitting, relaxing, being and absorbing the teachings. Private interviews with the teacher are available.

 Dates and costs

The weekend will start on Friday 23rd July 2010 in the late afternoon and will finish on the afternoon of Sunday 25th July 2010.
The cost is estimated at £270 for an all inclusive weekend.
