Upanishad -The Seekers Trail (9 of 108 verses)

Some may take the solar path
And seek the heat of the sun
Some may take the lunar path
And that’s what I have done

As you sit in this clearing
Perhaps you can be glad
That moonlight is conveyed
Through this Upanishad

Let me begin by telling you
Something of your past
A history of searching
For love to come and last

The absence of this love
Is loneliness for some
Or fear for others
Or tears that run

You tried to disguise it
With jewels in the rain
Twinkling pleasures
That could not remain

Hungry rivers ran inside
Desires drew you in
Days became eager
Defending this skin

You found there was no comfort
In chasing sense’s moods
Like cobwebs in the dawn
That hurricanes blew through

A life of seeking came about
A hunter you became
Hunting for a space
Untouched by stain

As through the mists of morning
Sunlight will arise
You turned towards spirit
To seek the hunter’s prize ..Cont
